AAAC Conductor

AAAC Conductor is mainly used as bare overhead transmission cable and as primary and secondary distribution cable. It is also suitable for laying across basins, rivers and valleys where special geographical teatures exist.
In Mehsana, Kadi, Kalol, Deesa, Palanpur and Radhanpur North Gujarat, India, AAAC Conductor (All Aluminium Alloy Conductor) is made from aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy of high electrical conductivity containing Magnesium and Silicon to give better mechanical properties after treatment.
AAA conductors are generall made out of aluminum alloy, AAAC Conductor has a better corrosion resistance and better strength to weight ratio and improved electrical conductivity than ACSR Conductor on equal diameter basis.

Features
Material : Made from high-strength aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy (typically 6201-T81)
Lightweight : Lighter than ACSR, which includes a steel core.
Corrosion Resistance : Superior to ACSR in coastal or polluted environments due to the absence of steel
Conductivity : Higher conductivity than ACSR but lower than pure aluminum (AAC)
Strength : Higher tensile strength than AAC, but less than ACSR.
Construction :
Made of strands of 6201-T81 aluminum alloy
Uniform cross-section - all strands are the same material (no steel)
Circular and stranded configuration (like other overhead conductors).

Applications

• Overhead power transmission and distribution
  Urban areas or coastal regions due to better corrosion resistance
  Used where reliability and low maintenance are key, and where ice or wind loading is moderate.

Advantages

• Better corrosion resistance (no steel to rust)
  Lighter than ACSR for the same current-carrying capacity
  Good sag performance (better than AAC, not as good as ACSR)
  Environmentally friendly (all aluminum, recyclable)
